This time the focus is YOU and your own purpose in life and business.

GABA Women Breakfast

On this occasion, we are delighted to present as our speaker Ms Lorraine Cobcroft, small business owner, entrepreneur, writer, trainer, and orator.

Ms Cobcroft will be speaking on the topic of “Virtual Networking:  The Key to Market Share in Today’s Business World?”   As she writes:
“Success in business isn’t about being seen by millions. It’s about getting the maximum number of ‘most wanted responses’ from the largest possible number of genuinely qualified prospects.” 

Here are the details of the breakfast:

Date: Thursday 25th March 2010

Venue: King of Cakes, Graceville Village, Shop 3/ 286 Oxley Road Graceville. (Train to Central station 5 mins walk away;  Bus stops close by on Oxley Road, parking available)

Time: 7.00am to 8.30am.

Menu: A choice of two breakfasts,  including bottomless coffee/ tea / hot chocolate
Aussie Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs, bacon, tomato, sausage, toast and butter.        
German Breakfast: cold cut platter, including cheese, ham, and leberkaese.  Fresh bread and a 5 grain roll, butter and jam.       

Cost: $20.00 per person

On arrival, please pay GABA Treasurer, Gerda Wittenberg, and place your breakfast order with Alice or her staff. 

As there have been requests by wider members of GABA to attend this breakfast, we have opened this specific function up to the whole membership. However, places will be limited.  Bookings will be on a “first in best dressed” basis. We encourage you to respond as soon as possible to assure your place. In order to assist King of Cakes to have the breakfasts ready on time, we ask that you indicate which breakfast you prefer when you respond.  The breakfasts will be ordered in advance, and you can pay GABA Treasurer Gerda Wittenberg, on arrival.

GABA Business Breakfast Function - Leadership in Difficult Times

Joint event with German Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chamber of Commerce and Industry QLD and GABA

Any company intending on taking a leadership role in their industry requires a new breed of leader with a unique combination of skills in communicating, coaching, inspiring and motivating, as well as skills in business management, negotiation, and strategy.
This new generation of leaders must surely have a different approach towards people in order to be successful in today’s significantly changed environment.
One recent example of leadership is Telstra’s management re-adjustment strategy to counter the difficult times in the telecommunication industry.
German subsidiary companies in Australia are not immune from leadership issues, or from finding new solutions for business success. An overview of the situation with the German companies in Australia will be provided.
